Hi, I'm Beckett.

I'm a mechanical engineer who loves building things. Whether it's developing an open-source CNC mill, designing robotic instruments, or prototyping electromechanical systems, I'm happiest when I can take an idea from a CAD model to a working piece of hardware.

Over the past four years at WPI, I've spent countless hours in machine shops, makerspaces, and research labs designing, machining, 3D printing, assembling, and testing prototypes. While I enjoy the design process, I've found that I do my best work in hands-on environments where I can iterate quickly, troubleshoot problems, and immediately see the results of my work. There's something uniquely rewarding about holding a part you designed only a few hours earlier and watching it become part of a functioning system.

Many of my projects combine mechanical design with electronics, automation, and manufacturing, giving me experience developing complete systems rather than individual components. From leading the mechanical development of an autonomous desktop CNC machine to building robotic musical instruments and custom mechatronics projects, I've learned that the best designs come from continuous testing, refinement, and collaboration.

Outside of engineering, I've been climbing for over ten years and served as both the captain and coach of WPI's competitive climbing team. More recently, I've become passionate about highlining, which challenges me to approach problem-solving from entirely new perspectives. Both activities have taught me patience, calculated risk management, and the value of steady progress—skills that translate directly into the way I approach engineering.

As I begin my career, I'm looking for opportunities where I can continue designing, building, and solving real-world problems alongside talented teams. I'm especially interested in product development, prototyping, manufacturing, and R&D roles that allow me to stay closely connected to the hardware I'm creating.
